Our mission is use of the most environmentally friendly, sustainable (http://www.forests.fi) and non-toxic packaging materials available. The Icebox is made primarily from biodegradable recyclable cardboard (http://www.recyclecartons.com). The minimal polyethylene spout, handle and BiB are fully recyclable and non-leaching, not presenting any health threats. The Icebox package takes up less space than that occupied by the five one liter bottles it replaces. This results in reduced storage and shipping, and the corresponding reduction in energy consumption.
The positive impact of IceBox packaging on the environment is substantial. Our Carbon Footprint is significantly lower than comparably sized plastic bottles. For example, our small boxes have a Carbon Footprint that is only 1/4 of their plastic bottle counterparts... and that is including the production and transportation from Norway.
